If you were at BlockBusters or Loose Change on Saturday, you got the scoop that TQM is going to participate in the Moda Sampler Block Shuffle. Starting today, we will be offering a FREE series of blocks in our newsletter and on our website – the Moda Sampler Block Shuffle! These blocks have been designed by the fabulous Moda fabric designers.
Every week you will be able to download patterns for three 6″ blocks. There are 30 blocks in the series, as well as a setting pattern and directions for a flying geese border. These are great little blocks – grab a couple of jelly rolls (one for the background and one for the focus fabrics) or two layer cakes, or one of each to begin with, or a handful of fat quarters, or use up your scraps! We have chosen some of the Moda Background Paper fabrics for the background and a variety of RJR Cotton and Steel fat quarters for ours; but you can use anything you like. (BTW, come check out the Cotton and Steel prints at the shop – so-o-o fun!!)
Even if you don’t have time to get started sewing, at least save the blocks for later! The series will continue weekly through early January. Each pattern will only stay on our website for two weeks, so you should download or print EACH WEEK’s blocks before they go away! (or you may purchase a hard copy in the shop for $1 each)
New blocks will go up by midnight every Friday evening along with pictures of our sample blocks. We’ll post a reminder on Facebook when they go up, or you can go directly here to the website to download the patterns.
Moda has designed a setting pattern for these blocks into a quilt that finishes at 59-1/2″ x 68″. You can use it or set the blocks any way you wish, but if you wish to use their design, you can download the setting pattern beginning THIS Friday, November 13.
If you are going to use the provided setting pattern, you will notice that there are flying geese in the inner border. Stay tuned for some helpful info on how to make lots of geese quickly and precisely!
We will also be offering in-store demos and online info from time to time with helpful tips on how to get the blocks done. Watch for notices on those!

And bring your blocks by for us to see – we’ll take a photo and put them up on Facebook and Instagram!
